Westchester County RestaurantNestled in the sleepy hamlet of Hastings on Hudson with the mighty Hudson River flowing majestically past its front door sits a little jewel of a restaurant called “Tony’s Steak and Seafood”. Hastings on Hudson is quickly becoming a lower Westchester restaurant destination with no fewer than ten eating establishments in this tiny town of 8,000 inhabitants. Among these restaurants is a casual dining experience that has for years been a virtual steak and seafood mecca. Commanding sweeping views of the Jaspar Cropsey museum complex, Tony’s Steak and Seafood continues to deliver the freshest seafood very simply prepared. With house aged steaks and chops; Tony’s is no secret to locals because it has always served up giant taste, with very ample portions at a very reasonable cost.
Parties large and small are always welcome and we do a lot of them from lively family affairs to corporate festivities. Although Tony’s Steak and Seafood is primarily an American restaurant it definitely has a Portuguese influence. Tony and Maria Dos Reis both head the kitchen and their quality and preparation skills are second to none. See their Portuguese influenced House Specialties below. The Portuguese version of French Bouillabaisse or and Italian Zuppa DePece. Mariscada is a mingling of succulent seafood (shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and lobster) in a zesty red sauce or in a light dressing infused with garlic and wine. As Maria and Tony would say in Portuguese….”Bom Apetite”.
PAELLA:
Paella at Tony’s is a traditional dish that combines lobster, shrimp scallops and clams with a smoky Portuguese sausage all of which is slow simmered with Saffron rice. A kingly portion that is rarely finished even for those with a hearty appetite. “You’ll need a doggy bag for this one”.
PASTA WITH SEAFOOD:
Pasta with seafood is an enormous portion of shrimp, scallops, clams and Alaskan king crab legs in a spicy red sauce or a garlic and oil sauce served over perfectly aldente linguine. ”You will find the after dinner mints located on your way out”.
PORTUGUESE STEAMED CLAMS: As an appetizer or an entrée Portuguese steamed clams are always a big hit at Tony’s. They are succulent little neck clams steamed to their tender best in their own juices along with garlic and wine. “This is “clam digging” at its best”. (Appetizer portion shown)
